Layers of egg noodles tossed in a tangy cream cheese, cottage cheese, and sour cream mixture get stacked with seasoned ground beef simmered in tomato sauce.
A shower of grated Parmesan on top and a stint in the oven brings it all together into one bubbly, golden casserole.
It feeds six generously, and the leftovers reheat like a champ.
Pro Tips
- Soften the cream cheese fully before mixing. Cold cream cheese leaves lumps no amount of stirring can fix.
- Drain the ground beef well after browning so the casserole doesn’t get greasy.
- Cook the noodles just shy of done since they’ll continue cooking in the oven.
- Let the casserole rest 10 minutes after baking so the layers hold together when you cut into it.
