Best Portuguese Sweet Bread (Bread Machine)

As I do not own a bread machine, I adapted this recipe to make in my KitchenAid stand mixer using the dough hook. I kept the igredients basically the same, with the exception of adding 1 1/2 Tbs. honey. I baked it in a 9" x 5" loaf pan.

The bread looks very fluffy and appetizing. I would love to have one slice or two with some homemade fruit jam, sounds like a good idea :)

Oh gee I'm gonna try this recipe and I have homemade strawberry jam.

Is this to be set on normal or sweet setting?

happyzhangbo

I would say normal should be ok. These is not too much sugar in the recipe. Hope this helps. Happy Baking :)

My moms recipe always had lemon in it?

Your recipe says bread machine, but the liquid to flour ratio is way off. Mine is in the bread machine right now but I had to add almost ½ more of flour as it was kneading. It's as goopy as cake batter

My mother in law makes the best sweet bread. It’s a very wet dough.
