The combination of parmesan, paprika, and fresh thyme or/and rosemary makes the roasted potatoes cheesy, tasty and full of flavor. You can always toss a few freshly minced garlic with the potatoes or simply sprinkle some garlic powder. A quick, easy and delicious dish that everyone loves.
This salad is subtle and very refreshing. There are a variety of textures-chewy cold noodles (bean thread noodles, some call them cellophane noodles 'cause when you boil them they become clear), crunchy sesame seeds, and crunchy cucumber slices. This recipe comes from Italy by way of Argentina. Maxwell Mowry of Charleston got this recipe when he lived in Buenos Aires in the early l970s. Since there are more people of Italian ancestry in Argentina than of Spanish ancestry, it is not surprising to find panettone there, where it is called in Spanish pan dulce, meaning 'sweet bread.' At Christmas in Argentina, pan dulce is eaten accompanied by sparkling apple cider. Houseware shops in Argentina sell special tall cylindrical springform pans to bake the pan dulce, but an empty, greased 1-pound coffee can may be used.
This is my version of the wonderful dish known as General Tso's Chicken (sometimes also called General Chicken.) I use quite a bit of ground chilies in my recipe. (If you prefer a milder version just reduce the amount of ground chilies.)
This slaw is a great side dish with burgers, pulled pork, BBQ, or any succulent meaty dishes. Loved the dilled pickles in the slaw and the pickled juice in the dressing, which really accomplish the flavor. It's refreshing, and also very low in calories and fat.
A stove-top beef stew recipe. Nothing beats a hearty, savory beef stew that warms you up a cold day and satisfies your hunger.
