This recipe was so easy to make, and it was scrumptious. The ricotta and mozzarella combination was excellent, cherry tomatoes were added into canned tomato, which gave the tomato sauce extra tasty sweetness. It was absolutely delicious!

I made this recipe for my boyfriend on his birthday and he asked me to marry him (I did). I'm not saying for sure that the Prinzregent Torte is why Don wanted to marry me, but I've always worried that it might have been. It is a magnificent recipe that always evokes incredulous cries of pleasure from people that I serve it to. The cake is a lot of work, so I only make it about once a year, but the people that I make it for feel very special.
This is probably the best scalloped potatoes I've had. We made our own cream of mushroom soup with dried wild mushrooms (see recipe link below). Tons of rich mushroom flavor that was embedded in the potatoes along with a nice cheesy flavor throughout. We used a nice old cheddar. The paprika was a nice touch and it ended up giving the potatoes a very rich color (see photos).
