One day I ran out of the ingredients, and so I got creative. What I came up with, I looooove. I call it Mediterranean Chicken a la Crock-Pot.
Chicken panini with Italian salsa verde of green olives, capers, garlic, and lemon. Briny no-cook sandwich ready in 15 minutes with leftover roast chicken.
I created this super comfort food soup after discovering celery root (celeriac) thanks to my European husband. I combine typical American green celery stalks and leaves with celeriac, which extra enhances the soup's flavor and makes it even creamier with just milk. No real cream needed. I top mine with croutons and extra celery leaves. Can easily be made vegetarian.

During the fall and winter I make homemade soup once a week. I’ve got dozens of delicious soup recipes, but the Pizza Soup was the favorite of our sons, Keith and Mark. It’s really easy to make. I apologize for the inexact quantities, but this is another recipe that I’ve never written down…and haven’t made it since last winter! I’ve given the basic recipe, but don’t be afraid to add other items you enjoy on your pizza…including a dash of red pepper sauce!
Fried chicken for Chanukah, marinated overnight in lemon juice, olive oil, and nutmeg, then flour-dipped, egg-washed, and pan-fried golden. A Sephardic-style Hanukkah centerpiece for the oil miracle.
