A hamantash (also spelled hamentasch, homentash, homentasch, (h)umentash, a filled cookie traditionally eaten during the Jewish holiday of Purim.
I Remember my Grandmother and Mother making these cookies. Somewhere along the line, I lost the recipe. I have tried to find a recipe with "that" taste I remember so well. Then I saw "this" one, and, for a moment, it brought back not only my childhood but also my mother and grandmother.
These cookies are buttery and flakey, love the walnut filling that gives the cookies just enough nuttiness and sweetness. Well balanced flavor, and cute little pockets, just can not have enough of them.
Easy to make, and these cookies are simply delicious!
Yesterday I brought these cookies to my husband's friend's bonfire, they disappeared quickly. Everyone loved them. Tahini actually tasted delicious in these cookies! Will be making these sweets again.

It's hard to resist any kind of cookies, such as these ones. They were buttery and delicious. Cranberries added some delicious sourness and sweetness, which perfectly balanced with the oatmeal cookies. Next time I may add some walnuts or even chocolate chips to give it a new twist.
