Yummy Baking Powder Biscuits recipe

Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour
3 tablespoons baking powder
*
1 teaspoon salt
4 tablespoons vegetable shortening
¾ cup milk, skim

Directions

Mix flour, baking powder, and salt together.

Cut in the shortening until it is evenly mixed with the dry ingredients.

Then add, milk, mixing well.

Then Knead for a a ½ minute and roll out to about 1½ inch in thickness.

Cut with a Biscuit cutter.

Place the biscuits 1½ inches apart on a greased baking sheet.

Then brush with the Milk and bake at 450 degree F oven degrees 10 to 12 minutes.

Note: Raisins or dried cranberries can be added to batter.

I'm curious though, do you think it would be okay to use chocolate chips instead of raisins or dried cranberries? :)

I would say go for it, why not. I think chocolate chips would be another excellent alternative. Happy Baking :)

I tried the recipe and I'm not sure what happened but the final biscuits ended up being dryer and flakier than I'd like. Would definitely add more milk next time! Otherwise, I loved the flavor, would totally recommend (just make the dough isn't too dry!)
