60 minSometimes you don’t want a fussy, 20-ingredient chili recipe. Vince’s Chili is the answer: five ingredients, one pot, no measuring out individual spices.
The trick is using taco sauce as your entire seasoning base. It brings the cumin, garlic, onion, and chili heat all in one pour, so you skip the spice rack entirely.
Brown the beef, dump everything in, and let it simmer for 45 minutes. That’s the whole recipe. It feeds a crowd and it freezes like a champ.
Pro Tips
- Brown the beef well before draining. Getting some color on the meat adds more depth than you’d expect from such a simple recipe.
- Use a mild taco sauce and adjust heat later with hot sauce if you want more kick.
- Simmer longer if you have time. An extra 30 minutes on low heat lets the flavors meld even further.
- This gets better overnight, so make it a day ahead if you’re feeding a game-day crowd.
