Directions

In a large sauté pan, melt butter and add the remaining ingredients except nuts.

Stir until well blended.

Add nuts and toss to coat.

Stove-top method

Cook, covered over moderately low heat for 20 minutes.

Stir occasionally. Drain on brown paper. Store in an air-tight container.

Oven method

Preheat oven to 300F.

Transfer coated nuts to a sheet, arrange them in a single layer, and roast for 10 minutes. Check every few minutes on their progress as they can char easily if you aren't paying attention.

The oven method yields the most uniform, evenly roasted results, but you do need to pay a bit more attention than the stove-top method.

Store in an air-tight container.

sean

I used Frank's Red Hot sauce, and they weren't at all spicy to my taste. Next time, I will double the amount of hot sauce. Also, I found them a tad salty, so next time, I'll leave out the added salt, as the other ingredients seem to have enough seasoning already. Otherwise they turned out well and everyone like them.
