Directions
Boil milk.
Add uncooked rice. Keep stirring until rice is almost done.
Add sugar when rice is almost done--not before or rice will stop boiling.
Add nuts and raisins.
Add about 5 whole pods cardamon at the very end. (Or substitute powdered cardamon.) add a little salt.
Pick out the cardamon seeds before serving if using.
Good served cold, too.
Note: You can add raisins, raw cashews (fry on stovetop in ghee. You can buy this at an Indian store, or sustitute butter.), or cardamon in pods.
Comments
Love rice pudding, and this Indian Rice Pudding sounds divine, love the cashew nuts, raisins and cardamon to being added, which certainly gives the rice pudding some delicious flavors. Will be making it soon, on my to-do list. Thanks for the sharing :-)
