"Band" Sloppy Joes

 

Easy home-made sloppy joe filling to feed a large crowd of about 50 people

Ingredients

10 pounds ground beef
browned anddrained
5 large onions
chopped
5 cups celery
chopped
20 tablespoons green bell peppers
chopped
5 teaspoons prepared mustard
10 tablespoons lemon juice
2 teaspoons salt
20 tablespoons brown sugar
20 tablespoons barbecue sauce
10 cups ketchup

Directions

Brown the ground beef and drain off any accumulated fat.

Add onions, celery, and green pepper to beef and sauté.

Add remaining ingredients, mix well, and cook 45 minutes.

Serve warm on hamburger buns or kaiser rolls with a side of potato salad.
