Arame Rice Patties

Ingredients
1 ½ | cups |
brown rice
cooked |

3 | tablespoons |
liquid egg substitute
to replace one egg |

1 ½ | cups |
bread crumbs, whole wheat
|
|
⅓ | cup |
onions
finely chopped |
|
⅓ | cup |
arame
soaked |

2 | tablespoons |
miso paste
natto or other type |

1 | teaspoon |
thyme

2 | tablespoons |
tahini (sesame paste)

Directions
Place all the ingredients in a large bowl.
Mix well, using your hands if necessary.
Shape the mixture into 6 small patties, using your hands to firmly press the mixture together.
Heat a small amount of oil in a skillet.
Place the patties in the skillet and cook over medium heat until they are brown on the bottom.
Turnthe patties over and brown them on the other side.
Serve these patties with soup, in place of bread, or with a bean or tofu dish.

I had a hard time getting the rice patties to stick together, so I just stirred them in the oil like fried rice. It was delicious to start with, but I added vegetarian pasta sauce with portabella mushrooms...one word mmmmmmmmm.
