60 minWhat happens when a tuna melt and a quiche have a baby? This pie.
Caramelized onions, flaked tuna, and a mountain of shredded cheddar get layered in a baking dish, then covered with a pourable Bisquick batter that puffs up into its own crust as it bakes.
Sliced tomatoes and more cheese go on top for the final few minutes, melting into a bubbly, golden finish.
Cut it into squares and serve it hot. It’s brunch, lunch, and dinner all in one dish.
Kitchen Tips
- Brown the onions slowly over low heat until they’re soft and golden. Rushing this step means bitter, half-raw onions in your pie.
- Beat the batter until nearly smooth. A few small lumps are fine, but big clumps of dry mix will leave pockets of raw dough.
- Let it cool 5 minutes before cutting so the filling sets and your slices hold together instead of oozing everywhere.
