A vegetarian take on sushi – a one bowl meal, which can be made in advance, keeps well in the fridge and makes for a great lunchbox. If you are going to make it ahead, store the dressing separately until you are ready to serve.
Grilled peaches add some nice grilling, sweet and sour flavor, and the habanero pepper gives the spiciness. Serve it with any kind of main course, such as roasts, grilled meat or seafood. Or use it to make some Mexican food, will be also delicious!
A very simple dinner for when you don’t have a lot of time to prepare a meal. Use brown rice noodles instead of the white variety to take advantage of the additional fibre they contain. Add other steamed / fresh vegetables to make the meal more substantial.
I made all Hawaiian food and this was with it. I loved smelling this cooking throughout the house, and it was divine. I froze two of the loaves, because I was told do not give it away, save it. Oh well will have to make double next time.
Tasted awesome and the house smelled so good while it was baking. I also added a ton of garlic and sliced onion to my brine. I just used all water and threw in several chicken bullion cubes to make up the broth part of the recipe. Soooo good and moist!
Tossed some broth and cabbage into the slow cooker, and household members said, "Hmm, smells good, what is it?" Just some cabbage. That's it." He said "You should find a Gerrman name for it." Really simple, and very tasty! Easy to make with typical ingredients that can be found in your pantry.
Delicious! And simple to make in a large batch for appetizers. As made in Thrace, the soft-dough may be spread into a sheet and cut in squares before baking, or each shaped individually into daintly "bastounakia" (little canes or sticks). The word "trifti" identifies the texture - crisp and crumbly in the mouth.
With freshly picked spring asparagus, there are so many delicious ways to enjoy it. Such as this roasted crispy and cheesy parmesan coated asparagus recipe, it is quick and easy to make, and the flavor is just outstanding, it can be a simple snack, side dish or a light appetizer to impress your company.
Made some changes to my version of oreo balls. I like them better with real chocolate not that nasty bark ew. You can change this up by using Nutter butter cookies with a bit of peanut butter along with the cream cheese to make a moist enough center to roll. Or use Mint oreos for a kick
Salsa is such a great sauce that can go well with lots of things, it can be served with chips as a dip, or it can be put in the casserole as a sauce. And it is so quick and easy to make, chop a few fresh vegetables, throw them all together, here your freshly homemade salsa.
You don’t need an ice cream maker to make this, but you do need a food processor. I use a banana and a small amount of honey to sweeten the yogurt. (See the banana-only variation on this recipe below.) You can serve it like soft-serve ice cream, or let it freeze solid so that it’s more like regular frozen yogurt.
Loaf leavened with yeast. Requires a bread machine. Here's one of my favorite breads to make. The trick here is to use stone ground cornmeal, not the powdered/bleached variety. It gives the bread a great flavor, and a really nice coarse texture. The combination of ingredients give it a very different flavor than standard banana/nut or pan-baked corn bread.
I have adapted this recipe from one called "Mom's Chocolate Pudding" in my new FAVE cookbook, "La Dolce Vegan!" by Sarah Kramer. Check her out at GoVegan.net! :D I swapped out tapioca starch for cornstarch as corn is a very high allergy food, to make this recipe not only Vegan, but also more Allergen FREE. Chocolate is still an allergen, but I can do on occasion, so I hope you can too...
