Prairiehare's French Onion Soup
Prairiehare's French Onion Soup

A very simple recipe for a classic, which helps you to get warm in the winter (ok, I mean when it is getting 4° Celsius in the night in Southern California). The number of servings is accurate when you have it as a meal - as a starter it should serve way more people. I did not list any spices, as I usually have self made chicken broth which is already pretty tasty and spicy, sweetness comes from the onions and the white wine balances it. For bread and cheese - don't think about any fancy, old dry bread is good and any cheese which melts. The onions are king when it comes to taste. Ovenproof crock bowls are very nice for final preparation and serving the soup.

Salmon & Broccoli Frittata
Salmon & Broccoli Frittata

Here’s another healthy and delicious recipe that we’ve developed for Fertility Road magazine. This simple frittata recipe is jam packed with nutrition and contains so many nutrients, which are important for conception. Eggs are such a great source of protein and iron (which are both really important nutrients for fertility). In addition they are also a fantastic source of vitamin D. Women who struggle with fertility often suffer from a deficiency in vitamin D. Broccoli is a good source of vitamin C, folate, calcium, iron, zinc and fibre. Vitamin C is particularly important for improving sperm quality in men and it also helps reduce the chance of miscarriage and chromosomal problems for women. Salmon is another great protein source and is rich in so many nutrients but particularly omega-3 fatty acids, which are proven to regulate blood flow to the reproductive organs.

Low-Fat Deviled Eggs on Sweet Potato Nests

World Egg Day is celebrated every year on the second Friday in October and this “eggcellent” form of protein is a great way to mark the day. These eggs are tucked securely in their nests and full of lots of things to make your body happy. Eggs are full of protein to keep your body running smoother and more efficiently. They also promote healthy brain development. The sweet potatoes have many vitamins and minerals that your body needs, like vitamin B6, vitamins C and D, iron and potassium. Sweet potatoes and the chickpeas, both, help to regulate blood sugar. They also control heart disease by lowering blood pressure and controlling your heart rate. Chickpeas are one of the oldest known eaten crops in the world. They are primary in the diets of some of the healthiest regions of the world. Boosting your immune system is also one of the many benefits of adding chickpeas to your daily menu. Chickpeas are a great food when you are trying to lose weight because they make you feel full for longer periods of time and boost your body’s natural digestion processes. So, no matter what your personal health objectives are, these snacks will have you flying from your nest and on your way to achieving your goals.
