20 minCream cheese gets punched up with garlic powder and fresh basil, spread into a pie plate, then topped with all the greatest hits from an Italian kitchen: ripe tomatoes, melty mozzarella, briny olives, and more basil.
It chills in the fridge while the flavors meld together into something that tastes like a deconstructed caprese salad in dip form.
Serve it with toasted baguette slices or pita chips for scooping.
Kitchen Tips
- Soften the cream cheese to room temperature for easiest spreading
- Dice the tomatoes small and drain excess liquid to prevent a watery dip
- Use fresh mozzarella torn into small pieces rather than shredded for better texture
- Make this at least 2 hours ahead so the flavors have time to blend
