Ingredients

1 ½ cups water
1 cup brown sugar
light, packed

1500 millilitres red wine
2 bottles
1 large apples
sliced, any kind

1 large oranges
halved, seeded and sliced
1 cup pineapple chunks
canned or fresh

4 whole star anise
*
½ cup curacao
orange
*

Directions

Add water and brown sugar in a Dutch oven.

Cook over medium-high heat, stirring often, until the sugar has dissolved, 2 to 3 minutes.

Stir in wine, apple, orange, pineapple and star anise.

Reduce the heat to medium and cook for another 10 to 12 minutes.

Stir in orange curaçao and cook for 6 minutes more.

Discard star anise.

Serve the punch in heat-safe wineglasses or coffee cups.

Use spoon to add some fruit into each glass.
