20 minSometimes you just need biscuits and you need them five minutes ago. This recipe strips the process down to the bare minimum: biscuit mix, water, a spoon, and a baking sheet. Stir, drop, bake. Done.
They come out lightly browned and soft enough to soak up gravy, butter, or whatever else you’re serving alongside. Are they going to win a county fair blue ribbon? Probably not. But they’ll be on the table in 20 minutes with almost zero cleanup.
That’s a win on a busy weeknight.
Kitchen Tips
- Swap the water for buttermilk or whole milk for a richer, more tender biscuit. Water works, but dairy adds flavor and softness.
- Don’t flatten the dough drops. Let them sit tall on the baking sheet. They’ll spread slightly as they bake and keep a nice fluffy height.
- Brush the tops with melted butter as soon as they come out of the oven for a glossy, buttery finish.
