Simple boiled chunk potatoes with butter, salt, and black pepper. Easy side dish with brown potatoes cooked tender in 25 minutes.

Brown potatoes peeled and cut into bite-sized chunks, then boiled in buttery, peppery water until fork-tender.

Half a stick of butter melts into the cooking water, coating each piece as it simmers.

Generous black pepper adds bite while salt brings out the earthy potato flavor.

Kitchen Tips

  • Cut potatoes into uniform chunks so they cook evenly
  • Start with cold water to prevent outside from overcooking before inside is done
  • Don’t skimp on the pepper—it’s a key flavor here
  • Drain well and serve hot with the butter clinging to each piece
