| 3/4 | cup | currants | |
| 14 | oz | artichoke hearts | or 1 1/2 cups of pulp |
| 1 1/2 | cups | sugar | |
| 1/2 | cup | vegetable oil | |
| 1/4 | cup | orange juice | |
| 3 | large | eggs | |
| 2 | cups | flour, all-purpose | |
| 1 | teaspoon | baking powder | |
| 1 | teaspoon | baking soda | |
| 1/2 | teaspoon | nutmeg | |
| 1/2 | teaspoon | cinnamon | |
| 1/2 | teaspoon | cloves | ground |
| 1/2 | teaspoon | salt | |
| 3/4 | cup | walnuts | chopped |
Wash currants and allow to drain.
Set aside.
Drain artichoke hearts and chop in food processor or blender.
Combine the artichoke hearts, sugar, oil, orange juice, and eggs in mixer.
Blend thoroughly.
Sift flour, baking powder, soda, nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves, and salt together.
Add to artichoke mixture, blending well.
Stir in walnuts and currants.
Pour into 2 greased 9 x 5-inch loaf pans and bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes.
