My mother and I made these cookies when I was little, many years ago, using the box of dry mincemeat. I have looked for years for the recipe, they are the best cookies ever!!!
This is a recipe given to me by my beloved, late mother-in-law. It is a really tasty Asian soup recipe.
A French daughter sauce from the mother sauce Béchamel. A tasty cheese sauce useful for many dishes including Eggs Florentine and is wonderful to dress up vegetables.
Cream of broccoli and pea soup with puréed fresh broccoli, sweet peas, and silky half-and-half. A classic homemade soup smoother than canned and far brighter in color.
Fantastic. I cooked it for my parents. My mother said it was very aromatic, my father just finished before I started to eat. It was a fun lunch. Thanks!
Pumpkin pie with a gingersnap crumb crust, dark rum, heavy cream, and freshly grated nutmeg. The double-boiler trick warms the filling before baking for a smoother, less weepy custard.
Absolutely delicious. We made this recipe for Mother's Day, and everyone raved about how yummy it was. Roasted vegetables added tons of flavor, plus the outer layer was so crispy. Definitely a winner!
This flavorful brisket recipe is the best we have tasted. Recipe was given to me by my beloved mother-in-law, Wanda (Fab) Carmona. Enjoy over a toasted roll or rice.
An incredibly tasty gravy, you can use the giblets or just some chicken stock if your prefer. My mother likes to use both beef and chicken stock to improve the color of the gravy.
Reminisce Magazine's contest winning recipe. By: Oma Rollison (my mother) "'This absolutely scrumptious cake needs no icing...just a dusting of confectioners' sugar. Even though this recipe has been a 'family secret' for years, I'm delighted to share it with my fellow Reminisce readers."
This was the side-dish my mother-in law made for Easter dinner, and my favorite. Freshly homemade pasta was mixed with basil pesto, sun-dried tomato, arugula and chunks of fresh mozzarella cheese. It was so delicious and flavorful. Here it is...

In a latest experiment with homemade soups, I combined the ideas from my own Hot and Sour Soup and my mother-in-law's Shanghai Meatball Soup. The result was unquestionably great and both my sons (who are excellent cooks themselves) declared it my finest effort. I hope you enjoy it, too!!
"A Contest winning recipe from Oma Rollison (my mother) featured in Reminisce Magazine with her now famous Banana's 'N Cream Bundt cake. A San Diego, Calif. newspaper once dubbed her "The Queen of Country Cooking." (I guess the apple never falls far from the tree.) She's no longer with us, but her wonderful recipes are."
"This cake is a rich, dark, moist fruit cake, very flavorful at Christmas. Try icing with almond paste for a more festive touch. This recipe is started in October or November so as to let it mellow before the holidays. I remember very well my mother storing her fruit cake in an old butter churn that belonged to my grandmother and great grandmother. I wish that I had that old crock."
