It is a public holiday in Ireland, Newfoundland (Canada) and Montserrat and is widely celebrated throughout the US and Canada particularly in New York and Chicago where parades are held and rivers are even dyed green. Other countries that celebrate “St. Paddy’s Day” are Argentina, Australia, Great Britain and New Zealand, among others.
