This Curried Crab Quiche combines the sweet, delicate taste of crab meat with the warm, aromatic notes of curry powder and nutty Swiss cheese, all nestled in a buttery pie crust. The creamy egg custard ties the flavors together, creating a sophisticated yet approachable dish ideal for brunch, lunch, or a light dinner. The recipe is straightforward, with marinating the crab meat enhancing its flavor, and the quiche bakes to a golden, set perfection.
Marinating the chicken in olive oil, balsamic vinegar, dried thyme and tarragon add great depth to a rice sauce that's smoothed by just a hint of red currant jelly and enhanced with apricots and tawny port. Be sure to use tawny port. With its beautiful amber color and slightly dry flavor, it compliments the apricots. Save your ruby port, which is sweeter and has a deep red wine color, for after dinner.
Plump prawns simmered in a bold honey-coffee sauce with bacon, chili, and tomato, served over dill mashed potatoes. An unexpected sweet-savory seafood dish with a deep espresso edge.
The Colonel also had a Roasted chicken that was mighty tasty . The chicken was marinated also and then baked with his famous seasonings. The baking process was long it takes 4 hours to bake it. It is baked at 225 for 2 hours till the internal temp was at 175. But for you at home I have updated this to be baked at a higher temperature and be prepared in less time. But lower temp. is better, see sticky chicken link below for ideas.
