Pfeffernusse (Peppernuts) recipe
This recipe originated in the town of Idar-Oberstein in the 19 th century, when gemstone prospectors returning from South America created their own version of gaucho-grilled steaks. The dish was then further refined by Scharfenberg's mentor August Goerg. Cuisine from Germany.
While Schwartz describes the name for this Israeli dish as slightly pretentious, he notes that it won a cooking competition and found its way onto the menus of five star hotels. He recommends serving it over a bed or bulgur pilaf.
This is a good "guest" food. You can appear to have mastered esoteric Oriental cooking techniques without ever having actually prepared the dish before... Unless you drop the pot on the kitchen floor and set it on fire with the hot salt, it's a pretty foolproof cooking technique.
Another great recipe to cook shrimp. Followed the recipe precisely, and no complain at all. I think I can use this recipe to cook fish as well. Definitely a keeper!
