These retro treats layer crunchy rice cereal bound with peanut butter syrup underneath a two-toned chocolate and butterscotch glaze.

The combination tastes like a candy bar in bar form, with that satisfying snap when you bite through the topping.

Cut them small because they’re rich and sweet, perfect for dessert tables where everyone wants just a little something.

Kitchen Tips

  • Heat the syrup mixture just until it bubbles, no more, or it will harden into rock candy
  • Work fast when stirring in the cereal, the mixture sets up quickly as it cools
  • Spread the topping while it’s still warm and fluid for smooth, even coverage
  • Store in an airtight container or they’ll lose their crunch within a day
