| 2 | ounces | tomatoes | dried, soft, chopped |
| 1/4 | cup | tomato sauce | |
| 1 | each | egg | |
| 12 | ounces | beer | room temperature |
| 1/4 | cup | sugar | |
| 3 1/2 | cups | flour, self-rising | self-rising |
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Mix sugar with flour. Add beer, egg and tomato sauce and mix all together quickly.
Fold in the tomatoes. Spoon batter into a greased loaf pan and bake 50 to 60 minutes.

This is the recipe I use and have had many, many compliments. I have modified it a bit though. Instead of a top crust I use a crumble topping of ¾ c. flour, ½ c.sugar and ¼ c. marg. Because of the sugar in the topping I reduce the amount in the pie to 1 c.
