| 1/2 | cup | onions | very thinly sliced |
| 2 | tablespoons | red wine vinegar | |
| 1 | tablespoon | olive oil | plus 1 tsp. |
| 3 | tablespoons | water | |
| 1/8 | teaspoon | garlic powder | |
| 1 | teaspoon | basil | dried |
| 1 | tablespoon | parmesan, parmigiano-reggiano cheese, grated | grated |
| 1/8 | teaspoon | black pepper | |
| 1 | x | salt | to taste |
Cook beans according to directions, cooking until just tender-crisp. Drain.
Combine beans and onions in a large bowl. Combine remaining ingredinets and pour over beans. toss until well blended. Chill several hours or overnight, stirring occasionally.
