| 1 | pound | ground beef | |
| 1/2 | cup | onion | chopped |
| 1 | cup | celery | chopped |
| 1 | cup | mushrooms | sliced, or water chestnuts |
| 1 | x | salt | |
| 1 | x | black pepper | |
| 2 | cans | green beans | 16 ounces, drained |
| 2 | cans | soup, cream of mushroom | diluted, with 1 1/2 cans water or milk |
| 1 | bag | tater tots | frozen |
Brown ground beef, onions, celery and mushrooms or water chestnuts.
Place half of meat mixture in bottom of 9 x 13-inch bake pan.
Add string beans.
Cover with remaining meat mixture.
Pour diluted mushroom soup over all.
Cover with Tater Tots and bake at 375 degrees F for 30 minutes or until casserole is bubbly and potatoes are crispy.
It's worth the little bit of extra effort to use fresh green beans. Even frozen ones would give a higher nutritional rating to this dish. And rice would be a good starch; tater tots are so processed.
