A very moist and yummy pancake. Didn't have chunky applesauce, so I used smooth applesauce and one chopped apple, which was delicious. I dusted the top with a bit icing sugar, drizzled some maple syrup over each slice, and it was delicious.
Next time make your own sauerkraut instead of store-bought, it's so easy to make, and there is no comparison between this two versions. Homemade one tastes a lot better, I just made my second bunch. I finished the first bunch within 3 days :-)
My wife has an excellent recipe for White Bread brought to this country from her grandmother who was originally from Poland. Makes 5 loaves. Typically, this style of bread would be served with baked ham. However it can go with almost anything. Stale leftovers can make excellent French toast.
