Joyce's Sweet-And-Sour Sauce
Every Chinese cook has his own version of this. This one is intended for quick cooking in an American kitchen.
fresh, bruised, quarter-sized
red hot pepper sauce
IN A SAUCEPAN, combine the vinegar, sugar, ketchup, ginger, salt and Tabasco sauce; bring to a boil.
Continue cooking over high heat and reduce to the consistency of a light syrup that lightly coats a spoon.
Makes 1½ Cups.
