Directions

IN A SAUCEPAN, combine the vinegar, sugar, ketchup, ginger, salt and Tabasco sauce; bring to a boil.

Continue cooking over high heat and reduce to the consistency of a light syrup that lightly coats a spoon.

Makes 1½ Cups.

Add 1/2 to one teaspoon of red hot pepper flakes for a spicy Thai-style sauce. You can also use some soy sauce instead of salt.
