When you crave fried chicken but want to skip the oil splatters, this cheddar-crusted version delivers all the crispy satisfaction with zero stovetop babysitting.

The triple-dip method (milk, cheese, crackers) creates layers of flavor and texture that bake up golden and crunchy in just 35 minutes. Sharp cheddar brings savory punch while Ritz or saltine crumbs add that buttery crackle we all love.

Kids go wild for this one, and it’s genius for meal prep since the breading stays crispy even when reheated.

Chef Tips

  • Crumb game: Use a zip-top bag and rolling pin to crush crackers into fine crumbs for better adhesion.
  • Cheese choice: Extra-sharp cheddar gives more flavor bang, or try a cheddar-jack blend for mild heat.
  • Keep it crispy: Don’t overlap chicken pieces in the pan. Air circulation is key to that all-over crunch.
  • Serve with: Ranch dressing, honey mustard, or a simple squeeze of lemon.
