| 1/4 | cup | cocoa powder | |
| 1 1/2 | cups | sugar | divided |
| 3/4 | cup | cake flour | sifted |
| 1 1/2 | cups | egg whites | |
| 1/4 | teaspoon | salt | |
| 1 | teaspoon | cream of tartar | |
| 1 | teaspoon | vanilla extract | |
| 1 | teaspoon | almond extract | |
| 1 | x | powdered sugar | |
| 1 | x | strawberries |
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Sift cocoa with 1 cup sugar twice.
Sift flour with remaining sugar three times.
Beat egg whites until foamy.
Add salt and cream of tartar.
Beat until whites hold peaks.
Fold whites into cocoa mixture and fold flour mixture into cocoa mixture.
Blend in vanilla and almond extract.
Pour into ungreased tube pan and bake 1 hour and 10 minutes.
Invert until cool and sprinkle with powdered sugar and strawberries.
If your tube pan does not have "legs" invert the pan onto a bottle with a long neck.
This will keep the sides from slipping down and shrinking the cake.
Very yummy, I tried this chocolate angel food cake several days ago, the cake was tasty and beautiful, I bought some raspberries instead of the strawberries, and I also made the raspberry sauce, you will see from the photos I uploaded. I will try this recipe again later. Love it.

A trend in America that is picking up speed is an increased interest on meals that can be made in a short amount of time. For us cooking buffs, that's......
Wow! Thank's so much for this recipe! I tried this once years ago. I received all kinds of requests from relatives for the recipe. Unfortunately I lost the recipe after the only time I made it. I have been searching for it for over 20 years and came up empty. Even called and spoke with Borden's. Since I found it originally on Eagle Brand label. They could not help either. It is Fabulous I give it a 10!!
