suggest servings
| 3/4 | cup | butter | |
| 1 1/2 | cups | sugar | white, granulated |
| 1 1/2 | cups | bananas | mashed |
| 2 | large | eggs | well beaten |
| 1 | teaspoon | vanilla extract | |
| 2 | cups | flour, all-purpose | |
| 1 | teaspoon | baking soda | |
| 3/4 | teaspoon | salt | |
| 1/2 | cup | buttermilk | or 1/2 cup milk soured with 1 teaspoon vinegar |
| 3/4 | cup | walnuts | chopped |
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
Cream butter and sugar together thoroughly.
Blend in bananas, eggs and vanilla.
Sift flour, baking soda and salt together.
Add to banana mixture, alternating with buttermilk and mixing thoroughly after each addition.
Add nuts and gently mix.
Pour batter into greased and floured loaf pan.
Bake for 1 1/4 hours, or until done.

try adding mixed peppers about half way through cooking so they are nice and crunchy.yummy
