| 4 | pounds | pork spareribs | lean |
| 1 | x | water | |
| 1 | x | salt and black pepper | |
| 1/2 | cup | honey | |
| 1/4 | cup | lemon juice | |
| 2 | teaspoons | lemon zest | grated |
| 2 | teaspoons | ginger | grated |
| 1 | clove | garlic | minced |
| 1 | teaspoon | rosemary leaves | crushed |
| 1/2 | teaspoon | red pepper flakes | crushed |
| 1/2 | teaspoon | sage | ground |
Preheat oven to 450 F.
Completely cover spareribs with water in a large pot or deep skillet.
Bring to a boil, uncovered, over medium heat.
Simmer 4 minutes.
Drain liquid, reserving for other use, if desired.
Season both sides of spareribs with salt and pepper.
Place spareribs on a rack in roasting pan.
Cover loosely with foil.
Bake 15 minutes.
Combine remaining ingredients; mix well.
Reduce oven temperature to 350 F.
Brush spareribs with honey mixture.
Bake until fully cooked, about 1 hour longer, brushing with honey mixture every 15 minutes.
Makes 4 to 6 servings.
