| 1 | pound | halibut | cut into chunks |
| 1 | cup | flour, all-purpose | |
| 1 1/2 | teaspoons | garlic powder | |
| 1 1/2 | teaspoons | curry powder | |
| 1 | teaspoon | marjoram | |
| 2 | teaspoons | baking powder | |
| 3/4 | teaspoon | lemon pepper | |
| 2 | cups | potato flakes | |
| 12 | ounces | beer | flat, or less |
Combine flour, garlic powder, curry powder, marjoram, baking powder, and lemon pepper.
Mix well.
Slowly add enough flat beer to make a thick batter.
Dip halibut in batter and then roll in potato flakes.
Let stand for 2 minutes.
Deep fry in 375 degree F. fat until golden brown.
Drain on absorbent paper and serve with a tartar sauce or a zesty tomato, horseradish sauce for dipping.

I loved this recipe. It goes sensationally with several other Indian recipes, all set up together on a sampler plate. Four and a half stars.
