Granny knew what she was doing with this straightforward brownie recipe.

Rich cocoa powder, brown sugar, and melted butter create intensely chocolatey brownies with that perfect contrast between crispy edges and a fudgy center.

No tempering chocolate, no fussy techniques, just mix and bake.

Let them cool completely before cutting or you’ll end up with a delicious mess instead of clean squares.

Baking Tips

  • Use Dutch-process cocoa for deeper chocolate flavor
  • Mix just until combined; overmixing makes tough brownies
  • Cool completely in the pan for clean cuts; warm brownies crumble
  • Store in an airtight container; they stay fudgy for days

Good if you want a very mild chocolate flavor and sweetness.
