| 4 | cups | white nothern beans | |
| 1 | each | ham | (1 1/2 lbs), honey ham |
| 1 | each | onion | whole |
| 1/2 | cup | brown sugar | plus three tablespoons |
| 1/3 | cup | molasses | |
| 2 | teaspoons | dry mustard | |
| 3 | teaspoons | salt | |
| 1/2 | teaspoon | black pepper | |
| 1 | x | water | hot |
Soak the beans overnight. In the morning, parboil them for 10 minutes with a teaspoon of baking soda added to the water. Oil sides of crockpot. Rinse beans with cold water and drain. Place onion in the bottom of the crockpot. Add beans and ham bone. Mix remaining ingredients with hot water in an amount to sit 1 inch below the beans. Pour over the beans, and cover. Cook on high for 4 hours and remove ham bone. Remove ham pieces and dice, return to pot. (Ham will measure about 1-1.5 cups of meat). Cook for 3-4 more hours on low. Avoid excessive stirring during cooking, or the beans will get very sticky.
This is really an old fashioned taste for baked beans, the only thing I changed was I used dark corn syrup instead of molasses. That is because my family likes that better than molasses and I use that instead of molasses all the time and in all my recipes, always have ever sence I realized that it taste just like it except a milder version.

General:Coriander is the seed of Coriandrum sativum, a plant in the parsley family. The seed is globular and almost round, brown to yellow red, and 1/5 inch in diameter with alternating straight and wavy ridges....
Good cookies--came out well. Not really sure why they are called "World's Best" though. There is nothing spectacular enough to give them that distinction, in my opinion.
