No-Bake Cocoa Haystacks

These were a favorite of mine when I was a kid. They still are and they're sooooo easy to make!

Low Cholesterol, Trans-fat Free, Good source of fiber, Very low in sodium, Low Sodium
 

Ingredients

1 ½ cups sugar
½ cup butter
or margarine
½ cup milk
½ cup cocoa powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 ½ cups rolled oats
quick-cooking
1 cup coconut
flaked
*
½ cup nuts
chopped

Directions

In medium saucepan combine sugar, butter, milk and cocoa.

Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture comes to full boil; remove from heat.

Stir in remaining ingredients.

Immediately drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto wax paper.

Cool completely.

Store in cool, dry place.
