Buttery melt-in-your-mouth cookies made with cornstarch for an impossibly tender crumb. Rolled in powdered sugar and pressed with a fork, they practically dissolve on your tongue.

The secret is cornstarch mixed with flour, which gives the dough an ultra-fine, silky texture that bakes into something closer to a cloud than a cookie.
You roll the dough into balls, dip them in powdered sugar, press them flat with a fork, and bake them low and slow until they’re barely golden.
With a 5-star rating and only six ingredients, this might be the easiest show-stopping cookie you’ll ever bake.
Kitchen Tips
- Softened butter is key. It should dent easily when pressed but not be greasy or melted. Too warm and the cookies will spread flat.
- Dip the fork in flour between presses so it doesn’t stick to the sugary dough.
- Watch them closely in the oven. They should be just barely golden on the bottom. Overbaked melting moments lose their signature tender crumble.
- Store in a single layer in an airtight container. They’re fragile and will crumble if stacked without parchment between layers.
