Ingredients

3 ½ ounces pearl barley
2 ⅛ quarts water

1 lemon

2 tablespoons honey
1 pinch salt

1 can apple juice

Directions

cover the barley and the fig with water and cook for 1½ hour.

strain through a sieve.

add the honey, applejuice, salt, lemonjuice and the grated lemonpeel.
