| 1 | cup | vegetable shortening | |
| 1 | cup | brown sugar | |
| 1 | each | egg | large |
| 1 | teaspoon | vanilla extract | |
| 1 | teaspoon | salt | |
| 2 1/2 | cups | flour, all-purpose | |
| 1 | cup | jam | |
| 1 | x | sugar |
Cream sugar and shortening together, beat in egg and vanilla.
Add dry ingredients. Press dough by hand onto cookie sheet (with raised sides).
Bake at 350 F for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden.
While still warm, spread with jam.
When cool, sift icing sugar over top.

As I perused the soda section I encountered vanilla Pepsi, cherry Pepsi, Lemon Pepsi, caffeine-free Pepsi, and diet Pepsi. EVERYTHING but regular good ole fashioned...
This meal was very simple. I liked it a lot, but the rest of my family didn't like the rice. The orange was a little over powering. The pork chop was excellent.
