| 1/4 | cup | sugar | |
| 1/3 | cup | instant coffee | |
| 1 | dash | salt | |
| 1 | teaspoon | vanilla extract | |
| 5 | cups | milk | |
| 1 | pint | ice cream | vanilla or coffee flavour |
| 1 | x | whipped cream | to garnish |
| 1 | x | nutmeg | to garnish |
Combine sugar, coffee, salt, vanilla, and milk; stir until sugar dissolves.
Chill until serving time.
Then ladle ice cream, by large spoonfuls, into punch bowl; pour coffee mixture over.
Top with puffs of whipped cream and sprinkle with a little nutmeg.
Serve in punch cups.
