Ingredients

2 cups pastry flour, whole wheat
2/3 cup carob powder
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 pinch salt
1/2 cup honey or apple juice
1/2 cup applesauce
1/4 cup pineapple, canned
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup cashew nuts

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 F.

In a large mixing bowl combine flour, carob, baking powder and salt.

Blend honey, applesauce, juices, pineapple and vanilla.

Add dry ingredients to wet mixture and stir in nuts.

Pour batter into an oiled 9" x 13" pan.

Bake 1 hour or until brownies pull away from sides of pan.
