| 1/4 | cup | milk, skim, (non fat) powder | non-fat |
| 1/4 | cup | wheat germ | |
| 1 | teaspoon | salt | |
| 1 | teaspoon | baking powder | |
| 1/4 | teaspoon | cinnamon | |
| 3/4 | cup | vegetable shortening | |
| 1 1/4 | cups | brown sugar | packed |
| 1 | each | egg | |
| 1/4 | cup | frozen orange juice concentrated | thawed |
| 1 1/2 | cups | quick oats, uncooked | |
| 1 | cup | walnuts | chopped |
| 1/2 | cup | raisins, seedless | chopped |
| 2 | tablespoons | sugar | granulated |
Stir together flour, milk, wheat germ, salt, baking powder and cinnamon, set aside.
In large bowl cream shortening, brown sugar and egg until fluffy; add orange concentrate.
Stir in flour mixture, then oats, walnuts, and raisins.
Drop by heaping tablespoonfuls 4 inches apart on lightly greased baking sheets.
Press with bottom of glass dipped in sugar to 3 1/4 inch diameter.
Bake in preheated 350 degrees F. oven about 15 minutes or until cookie springs back when pressed lightly.
Let stand 2 to 3 minutes.
Remove to rack to cool completely.

Well, it was a cold Sunday morning and I needed to get rid of some leftover baked ham. Whipped up this bad boy and it was GREAT! Just follow the instructions for mixing so you don't get lumpy (yuk) sauce. I found that my MEGA Panasonic nuke STILL took a lot longer than they said to heat the stuff up. Just remember to heat a bit; stir a bit, heat - stir, etc, and add the sliced eggs toward the end. Be VERY gentle with the sliced eggs and they won't completely fall apart. The taste is a delicate cheesey white sauce with a hint of the green onion that complements the other flavors. I liked it. It kept well in the fridge too.
