| 1 | tablespoon | soy sauce | |
| 1 | tablespoon | white wine | dry |
| 1 | clove | garlic | minced |
| 1/8 | teaspoon | ginger | ground |
| 1 | pound | beef round steak | |
| 2 | teaspoons | safflower oil | |
| 2 | cups | broccoli florets | |
| 1 | cup | beef broth | |
| 1 1/2 | tablespoons | cornstarch |
Cut meat into 1-inch strips.
Mix together first four ingredients and marinate meat strips for 1 hour.
Heat oil in skillet over moderate heat.
Remove meat from marinade (reserve) and brown quickly on both sides.
Add the broccoli and cook until easily pierced with fork.
Combine broth, cornstarch and marinade; stir into skillet mixture.
Cook until sauce thickens.

This is the recipe I use and have had many, many compliments. I have modified it a bit though. Instead of a top crust I use a crumble topping of ¾ c. flour, ½ c.sugar and ¼ c. marg. Because of the sugar in the topping I reduce the amount in the pie to 1 c.
