| 1 | each | acorn squash | |
| 1 | teaspoon | maple syrup | |
| 1/4 | teaspoon | cinnamon, ground | |
| 1 | teaspoon | water | |
| 1 | each | apple | cored and sliced (optional) |
Wash the squash, then slice it crosswise into 1/4-inch rings. Remove the seeds and pulp. Layer the rings in a casserole dish, top with maple syrup, dust on cinnamon and sprinkle with water. (As an added touch, slices of apple can be placed in layers alternating with the squash rings.)
Bake, covered, in a preheated oven at 275 degrees for about 30 minutes.

Turmeric is what gives curry it's brilliant colour. Now it may be protecting children against leukemia......
My husband and I really like this. It is so tasty with the steak sauce tomato juice and worchestishire sauce. I doubled it for a large crock pot and otherwise followed it to a t. We will make it again.
