Apple-Cranberry Pie with Brown Sugar Topping

Ingredients

Pie
1 each pie shell (9 inch) 9 inch
5 each apples golden delicious
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 cup cranberries picked over
3 tablespoons flour, all-purpose
1/2 cup sugar granulated
1 teaspoon cinnamon ground
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg ground
topping
3/4 cup brown sugar, dark
1 1/2 tablespoons flour, all-purpose
2 tablespoons butter softened
1 teaspoon cinnamon

Directions

1. To prepare the pie: Spray a 9-inch pie pan with a nonstick spray.

Prepare the pastry shell and fit into the pan.

2. Peel the apples, core and slice thinly. Toss with the lemon juice.

Combine with the cranberries, flour, sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg.

Pile into the pastry shell.

3. To prepare the topping: Combine the brown sugar, flour, butter.

Sprinkle over the top of the pie.

4. Place the pie on a baking sheet and bake in a preheated 350 oven until apples are tender.

Cool on a rack.

The pie can be served with sweetened whipped cream or ice cream.
