NORI AND PORK ROLLS

shabu shabu or thin cut pork
slices
pickled Japanese plum (ume)
Take ume meat and smear on one side of pork slices.
Place a nori slice over this and roll as for jellyrolls. Dip
in flour and egg, then in panko. Deep fry and cut into rounds
to serve. Makes a delightful appetizer.
CHINESE PLUM SAUCE

1/2 c. plum jam
1/4 c. chutney
1 1/2 tsp. vinegar
1/8 tsp. hot sauce
Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan; cook until
thoroughly heated. Store in refrigerator. Yield: 3/4 cup.
Commercial Chinese plum sauce may be substituted, if
desired.
