4 hrsWhen you slice into these chocolate logs and see those jewel-toned marshmallow rounds peeking out, you will understand exactly where the name comes from. They look like little stained glass windows.
Melted semisweet chocolate gets mixed with icing sugar and a beaten egg, then folded over colorful mini marshmallows and chopped walnuts. The mixture gets shaped into logs, wrapped in wax paper, and chilled until firm.
No baking, no candy thermometer, no fuss. Just slice into rounds and watch people marvel at how something so pretty took so little effort.
These are a holiday candy tin favorite that kids and adults fight over equally.
Kitchen Tips
- Let the melted chocolate cool slightly before adding the egg so it does not scramble
- Use colored mini marshmallows, not white, to get that signature stained glass mosaic effect
- Roll the logs tightly so there are no air pockets; this makes for cleaner, prettier slices
- Chill for at least 3 to 4 hours, or until completely firm, before slicing
